Holiday Cheer

Beki's Workstation
Christmas is here! Beki and I are in complete holiday cheer mode as we are cranking out crafts and decorating our halls with fa la la la la fun! I'm quite amazed at the artist which has come to life within my gorgeous wife. She is wielding her hot glue gun in one hand, scissors in the other while the images of Pinterest dance on the computer screen in her peripheral. From scarfs to coasters all the way to front door wreaths this bride of mine is going hot glue crazy and fabricating formidable presents of North Pole standards with mere Modge Podge and burlap .

The Beki Touch of Creativity
Believe it or not, this is my first Christmas of celebratory bliss in 5 years - my 2nd in 7. 2006 I had my vehicle stolen and spent Christmas day hungry and alone in my apartment out in Nowhere, Iowa. 2007 I spent thousands of hard earned Union dollars and enjoyed a family filled festive season. 2008 I was left alone by my fleeing parents who escaped to Kansas for the week while I was confined to within 100 feet of my house. We all know where I spent 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Our Wedding Cards

So this year is extra special for me. It has a significant number of firsts: 1st time with Beki. 1st time as a husband. 1st time as a homeowner. 1st time as a free'd man (or as some call it, "ex-con"). 1st time as a Barreth-In-Law. Now that fact in and of itself is cool - I get to spend the holidays with - by far - one of the coolest families on earth!

Our Lovely Home
And this is also the first Christmas my mom and dad can be worry free about where I'm at, what I'm doing and with whom I'm doing it with. I'm free. I'm redeemed. I'm renewed. I'm loving life and all that the holiday's are bringing thus far. Now back to the crafts....
